12TH WILD GAME DINNER MARCH 27

March 16, 2010

The one and only - Clarion University "Wild Game Event" is ready to roll!

The 12th annual Clarion University - George Garbarino Scholarship "Wild Game Event" is set for Saturday, March 27, at the Clarion Moose Lodge #101, located at 401 Grand Avenue. The event, sponsored by S&T Bank, RRR Roadhouse, Eden Inc. and Fullington Trailways, benefits the George Garbarino Scholarship Endowment at Clarion University.

Tickets are available for the annual event and cost $100 per person and that includes happy hour, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, raffle tickets and a chance to bid on some great auction items. Tickets are available and can be purchased through Jim Thornton, the Game Event Director, at Room 215 Tippin Gym. An additional $50 Early Bird ticket package is also available which makes you eligible for twice the number of raffle tickets. For more info call Thornton at 814-393-2456.

The night starts at 6pm with Hors D'oeuvres, games and happy hour, with dinner served at 7:30pm. A special program of raffles and auctions will also get underway at 8:30pm.

The Garbarino Endowment value right now stands at nearly $170,000, mostly from money raised from the Game Dinner. The Game Dinner was organized in 1999 by Thornton and raised $14,000 in its inaugural year.

"We are looking forward to another successful game dinner," said Thornton. "With the passing of Mr. Garbarino in July of 2007, the Game Dinner has taken on a special meaning to all of us associated with the event, as well as the entire Garbarino family. The biggest thing is that we raise money in Mr. Garbarino's name for athletic scholarships through the endowment. That makes the night complete."
