         <description><![CDATA[TOWNSON, Md. - For the third time in her career Clarion University's Erin Richard (Erie/McDowell) has been named a College Division ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).<p>Richard, who was a senior in 2008-2009, is a third-team selection for the second time in three years - she was also a third-team choice in 2007 - after being a member of the second team in 2008. She earns the award by carrying a 3.88 in Elementary Education and earning two All-American awards at the 2009 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships while qualifying for the NCAA D-II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in two events.</P>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[(Lock Haven, Pa.): Clarion freshman golfer Ross Pringle (Titusville) was named this week as the PSAC "Freshman of the Year" by a vote of the head coaches in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.<p>Pringle had a very strong year posting a scoring average of 75.01, and closed his season with his most impressive performance, a 10th place finish at the 2009 East/Atlantic Super Regional with a 54-hole score of 229. He placed 10th out of 106 golfers. The Super Regional was played at The Resort Course at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia and he shot rounds of 78, 74 and 77.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[(Coral Springs, Florida): Clarion golfer Ashley Grimm (Sugarloaf/Hazelton) was honored recently by the National Golf Coaches Association with the 2008-09 Kim Moore Spirit Award. The award is given annually (since 2005) to one female golfer in NCAA Divisions I, II and III in honor of the former University of Indianapolis player.<p>Grimm, a four-year women's basketball standout at Clarion through the spring of 2008, was a graduate assistant in Women's Basketball in 2008-09, and also had one year of eligibility remaining. She walked onto the Clarion University Women's Golf Team this year, a program in its inaugural season of competition, and made a strong contribution both on and off the course. Ashley is the daughter of Richard and Jane Grimm of Sugarloaf, Pa.</p>]]></description>
