LOCK HAVEN – Clarion right-side hitter Hannah Heeter has been named as one of two recipients of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award for the women's volleyball championships.

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 88 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. Heeter joins California's Abbey Freund as the inaugural recipients of the award for women's volleyball.

Heeter is a sophomore chemistry major with a 3.97 GPA. She entered Friday's semifinal match with Lock Haven third on the team with 216 kills and second with 68 blocks. She will also be a member of the Golden Eagle women's basketball team at the conclusion of volleyball season.

NOTES - The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 88 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 88 NCAA championships across all three divisions - I, II and III.
