MANSFIELD – Clarion outfielder Jon Kemmer and catcher Ken Morgan were named to the American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division II All-Atlantic Region baseball team Monday.
 
Kemmer is a first-team selection, while Morgan is a second-team choice. It is the third all-region award for Morgan who was also a second-team Daktronics and second-team National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association selection at catcher, while it is the second all-region award for Kemmer who was a second-team NCBWA outfield choice. Both players were also first-team PSAC West selections.
 
Kemmer, a junior, posted a .387 batting average which ranks fifth in the PSAC. He also led the team in OPS with an eye-popping 1.207, which ranks second in the PSAC thanks to a .526 on-base percentage (No. 1 in the PSAC, 4th best at Clarion since 1979) and a .681 slugging percentage (2nd in the PSAC; 1st in the PSAC West; 6th best at Clarion since 1979). He also led the team in runs scored (37), doubles (14) and triples (3) while ranking second in home runs (5) and tying Morgan for second in RBIs with 25. He had hitting streaks of eight, seven and six games during the season while hitting safely in 29 of 40 games.
 
Morgan, a senior, was second on the team and ninth in the PSAC in batting average (.364) while having an on-base plus slugging (OPS) of .950. He tied for second on the team in RBIs (25), doubles (12) and home runs (3) while also finishing second in hits with 44.
 
NOTES – As a first-team choice, Kemmer is now eligible to be considered for NCAA Division II All-American, which will be selected Mat 27 in Cary, N.C., in conjunction with the NCAA Division II national tournament … Morgan finished his career with a .301 batting average. He tied Cary Grubb for the third-most home runs in a career at Clarion (13) while recording the fifth-most doubles (27) and seventh-most total bases (177) since 1079. His .497 career slugging percentage also ranks eighth at Clarion since 1970, and his 123 games played are the ninth most ever by a Golden Eagle … Clarion finished the season 12-28 overall and 9-15 in the PSAC West.
