CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion University women's basketball team will be hosting a Hoop for a Cure Cancer Awareness Night when Mercyhurst comes to town for a 5:30 p.m. game Feb. 13.
The Golden Eagles have various activities and fundraisers planned for the night with all monies raised going to The Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital.
A survivors' recognition ceremony sponsored by The Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital will occur at halftime of the game, while a cancer awareness booth will be staffed by the American Cancer Society throughout the game.
Fundraisers will include a Chinese Auction of gift baskets, a cancer awareness t-shirt sale and pink ribbons being given out for a donation.
The Chinese Auction will cost $1 for one ticket, $3 for five tickets and $5 for an arm's length of tickets. T-Shirts will be available for one for $12 and two for $20 and the suggested donation on the pink ribbons is $1.

NOTES – Clarion University athletics has raised nearly $10,000 over the past few seasons for The Cancer Center at Clarion Hospital … The Hooping for a Cure event is going on nationally during the months of January and February, and Clarion is joining its sister PSAC institutions and the conference as a whole in doing the event.
