[+]![]() RICHARD ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN TOWNSON, Md. - For the third time in her career Clarion University's Erin Richard (Erie/McDowell) has been named a College Division ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Richard, who was a senior in 2008-2009, is a third-team selection for the second time in three years - she was also a third-team choice in 2007 - after being a member of the second team in 2008. She earns the award by carrying a 3.88 in Elementary Education and earning two All-American awards at the 2009 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships while qualifying for the NCAA D-II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in two events. [+]![]() MALONEY WINS PSAC SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD LOCK HAVEN - Clarion University junior swimmer Jamie Maloney (York/Dallastown) is the inaugural female winner of the PSAC Sportsmanship Award. The award is given to one male and one female student-athlete who best exemplifies the spirit of sportsmanship and who has demonstrated the values of respect and integrity through a specific action ideally directed toward an opponent. Nominees must also have represented his/her institution in a positive way during competition and must have demonstrated good citizenship outside of competition by fostering a good public image.
