 SIMMONS, HOGGARD & ROBINSON EARN ALL-PSAC AWARDS (Clarion, Pa.): The All PSAC-Western Division Football teams were announced today and three Clarion University players were named to the second team. Honored by the PSAC-West coaches were Defensive Tackle Jimmy Simmons (Sr. Huntland, Tn.), and sophomore wide receivers Jaques Robinson (Pgh - Oliver) and Alfonso Hoggard (Philadelphia - Caravel Adademy). Hoggard was also named second team as a return specialist. [+] CLARION GRIDDERS DEFEAT CHEYNEY 41-20 (CLARION, PA.): Clarion's Jaques Robinson (So. Pgh. - Oliver) caught 10 passes for 140 yards and 2 td's and Eddie Emmanuel (Sr. Hempstead, N.Y.) rushed for 133 yards and 3 td's as the Golden Eagles defeated Cheyney 41-20 on Saturday afternoon. Held at Clarion's Memorial Stadium on Senior Day, Clarion finished the season with a 3-8 overall record while Cheyney fell to 0-11. [+] CLARION HOSTS CHEYNEY IN SEASON FINALE The 2008 football season will come to a close this Saturday, November 8th, as the Golden Eagles host Cheyney in a PSAC crossover game. Kickoff is set for 1pm at Memorial Stadium with six seniors honored in pre-game ceremonies. Those seniors will be Kevin Brady (Middletown, N.Y.), Eddie Emmanuel (Hempstead, N.Y.), Bob Kail (McMurray/ Peters Twp.), Nick Perla (Irwin/Penn Trafford), Jimmy Simmons (Huntland, Tn.) and Dane Williams (Pgh - Penn Hills).
