CHRIS WEIBEL - Quarterbacks Former Clarion All-America quarterback Chris Weibel begins his fifth season as an assistant coach at his alma mater and his fourth season tutoring the quarterbacks. He is in his third season as the team's recruiting coordinator. Weibel played nearly 5 years of professional football including the Erie Invaders (IFL) in 2000, Florida Firecats (AFL 2) in 2001, Greensboro Prowlers (AFL 2) in 2002, Myrtle Beach Sting Rays (NIFL) in 2003 and signed during the 2004 season with Grand Rapids of the AFL. During the 2002 season Weibel had his best pro game competing 23 of 25 passes for 330 yards and 9 td's. The Eagle signal caller (1993; 95-98) holds 5 career and 3 single season records. He completed 586 of 1,065 passes for 7,845 yards and 65 td's in his career, while also totaling 8,136 yards of total offense. Weibel led Clarion to an 11-3 overall record, the NCAA D-II East Region Title, the NCAA D-II "Final Four" and the Lambert Cup in 1996. An HM All-American in 1996, he completed 208 of 356 passes (58.4%) for 2,880 yards and 32 tds'. He ranked #2 in the NCAA in passing efficiency. He graduated from Clarion in December of 1998 with a degree in Marketing. A native of East Brady, Chris graduated from Kittanning High in 1993 and currently resides in Clarion. |
