MEN'S SWIMMERS LOSE TO DUQUESNE 130-100

(CLARION): Clarion University's Men's Swimming and Diving team saw their dual meet record dip to 1-2 on Friday night as the Golden Eagle men lost a 130-100 decision to Duquesne at Clarion's W. S. Tippin Natatorium.

Diver Logan Pearsall was a double winner taking the 3 meter (218.60) and 1 meter (224.47) events.

(Pittsburgh): Clarion University's Men's Swimming and Diving team saw their dual meet record evened at 1-1 overall as the Golden Eagle men lost a close 153-147 decision at Carnegie Mellon on Saturday afternoon.

Ryan Thiel (Jr. Ligonier) led the way for the Golden Eagles winning three individual events including the 50 free (21.67), the 100 free (46.86) and the 200 freestyle (1:44.22) races.

(CLARION, PA): Clarion University's Men's Swimming and Diving team opened the dual meet season with a 166-128 win over Shippensburg on Saturday at Tippin Natatorium.pThe Golden Eagles featured five double winners including Ryan Thiel (Jr. Ligonier), Rich Eckert (Jr. Versailles/McKeesport), Jon Kofmehl (So. Johnstown/Richland), Dustin Fedunok (Jr. Gibsonia/Pine Richland) and Logan Pearsall (So. Port Allegany).

(CLARION, PA): The 2008-09 Clarion Men's Swimming team opened action onFriday and Saturday at Tippin Natatorium in the Clarion Classic Invitational.

The Golden Eagle Men finished second with 553 points behind Grove City who won the event with 1,078.5 points. Westminster was third with 261.5 and Frostburg fourth with 49.

LEARN TO SWIM/DIVE CLASSES ANNOUNCED

(CLARION, PA.): Clarion University head swimming coach Mark VanDyke has announced the annual "Learn To Swim" and "Learn To Dive" program for the Fall. The programs are offered for those children ranging in abilities from non-swimmer to swimmer, plus Parent-Child classes and Competitive swimming. Registration will take place at Clarion University's W.S. Tippin Gym Lobby on Tuesday September 2nd and Wednesday September 3rd from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

(Columbia, Missouri): Clarion's Men's Swimming and Diving team placed 18th at the recently completed NCAA Division II Men's Swimming and Diving National Championships.Held at the Mizzou Aquatic Center in Columbia, Missouri, Drury won the team title with 523 points, Missouri S&T was second with 336 and West Chester third with 316.5. Clarion finished 18th in team scoring with 68 points.

Gibsonia) placed second in the 1000 yard freestyle on Thursday night, leading the Golden Eagles to a second place position at the end of the first day of the 50th Annual PSAC Men's Swimming Championships.Held at Cumberland Valley High School, West Chester leads the team race after only one event with 50 points, while Clarion is second with 26 and Bloomsburg third with 22 points. Rounding out the 7 team field include fourth place Edinboro with 17 points, Kutztown fifth with 16, IUP sixth with 15 and Shippensburg seventh with 8 points.

(CLARION, Pa.): The 50th Annual PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Men's Swimming Championships will be hosted from Thursday February 21st through Sunday February 24th at Cumberland Valley High School.Only one event, the 1000 meter freestyle, will be competed on Thursday at 6:00pm. From Friday through Sunday prelims are set each day at 10am and finals are slated to start at 6pm. The Women's PSAC Championship will also run at the same time in an alternating event format.

(CLARION, PA.): The Clarion Men's Swimming and Diving team raised its season record to 6-3-1 on Friday night defeating IUP 135-80 at Tippin Natatorium. Seven seniors were recognized in their final home dual meet of their careers.
