Sycamore/Waynesburg Central) was named today as the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference)Wrestling "Freshman of the Year" for his accomplishments in 2009 in a vote by the PSAC head coaches.<p>Podish, who wrestled at 184-pounds for the Golden Eagles this season, put together a 20-15 overall record against mostly NCAA Division I competition and notched 4 pins and 4 majors among his 20 wins.          <description><![CDATA[Clarion's NCAA Division I Wrestling team is ready for its "second season" as the Golden Eagles prepare to compete in the 34th annual EWL (Eastern Wrestling League) Championships.<b> <p>EWL CHAMPIONSHIPS HAVE 2 SESSIONS</b> </p><p>The 2009 EWL's will be hosted at Lock Haven University's Thomas Fieldhouse on Saturday, March 7th. Session 1 is set for 10am and will feature quarterfinal action, followed by semi-finals and Round 1 consolations. Session 2 starts at 5pm and will have the consolation semi=s, followed at 7pm by the championships finals and matches for third and fifth places. A total of 22 wrestlers will qualify for the NCAA Tournament from the EWL's via the new selection system. The new national qualifying system will then identify the next best wrestlers at each weight class who did not qualify across the country to fill out the national bracket.</p>]]></description>
