(CLARION, PA): The Clarion University Wrestling team brings the 2009 regular season to a close on Saturday as the Golden Eagles travel to Lock Haven for a key EWL battle. Match time is 7:30pm at LHU's Thomas Fieldhouse. The match can be heard on 92.7FM (WCCR) and on the internet at Redzonemedia.com with Rich Herman calling the action. Clarion enters the dual with an 8-13 overall record and a 1-4 mark in the Eastern Wrestling League under third year head coach Teague Moore. In 2009 the Eagles have wins over Eastern Michigan (21-12), Columbia (30-12), Pitt-Johnstown (19-12), Northern Colorado (20-18), Gardner-Webb (37-6) Duquesne (40-3), Millersville (39-3) and Cleveland State (30-10) Losses have come against Rutgers (21-15), #10 Boise State (31-6), #22 Kent State (22-13), #16 Northwestern (29-3), #15 Oklahoma State (44-0), #13 Edinboro (36-4), #20 Indiana (49-0) and #26 American (21-18), with formerly ranked Virginia (28-9), West Virginia (22-14), Bloomsburg (22-12), Rider (19-18) and Pitt (24-10) Clarion's lineup will have Jay Ivanco (17-10), So. Monroeville/Gateway) at 125, Cameron Moran (7-4, Fr., James City) at 133, Sal Lascari (13-13, Sr. Gray) at 141, Greg Lewis (8-10, Jr. New Providence) at 149, Hadley Harrison (18-11, Jr. McKean) at 157, Dominic Ross (10-15, Sr. Sharon) at 165, Scott Joseph (12-12, Jr. Export) at 174, Clint Podish (18-13, Fr. Sycamore/ Waynesburg Central) at 184, Jamie Luckett (18-10, Sr. St. Charles, Mo.) at 197 and Roman Husam (6-12, So. Lewisburg) at heavyweight. Lock Haven, under seventh year head coach Rocky Bonomo, enters the dual with an overall record of 6-9-1 and an EWL mark of 1-4. The Bald Eagles will counter with Nick Hyatt (12-12) at 125, Billy Ashnault (19-11) at 133, Zach Kell (4-17) at 141, Matt Fittery (25-7) at 149, Ollie Cooperwood (4-8) at 157, Aaron Ernest (8-13) at 165, Travis Stem (1-6) at 174, Tom Kocher (22-9) at 184, Ben Hepburn (21-8) at 197 and Gabe Murtorff (5-20) at heavyweight. Lock Haven has defeated Cleveland State (32-10) in the EWL and has suffered EWL losses to Pitt (30-9), Edinboro (34-6), West Virginia (20-16), and Bloomsburg (29-9). CLARION NOTES: At the PSAC's earlier this year (December 6), matchups against LH wrestlers include --- Ivanco decisioned Hyatt 3-2, Podish decisioned Kocher 7-1 ...Lock Haven defeated Clarion 21-13 last year at Tippin Gym... Clarion last defeated Lock Haven in 2004 by a final score of 25-18 ... Clarion has an All-Time EWL record of 13-17-2 against Lock Haven and an Overall Record of 18-23-2 against the Bald Eagles ...7 of Clarion's 13 losses have come against nationally ranked Division I Teams ... Clarion now has 498 dual meet victories since re-starting its program in the 1959-60 season... Two more will get the Eagles to 500 wins ...
