![]() SCHMITZ NAMED HEAD SOCCER COACH AT PSU-DUBOIS Rachael Schmitz, the Clarion University women's soccer teams' 2008 Most Valuable Player and a two-year team captain, was recently named the first coach of the fledgling Penn State University-DuBois women's soccer program, which will being play this fall. "I'm excited for this opportunity," Schmitz, who will graduate from Clarion in May 2010 with a degree in Elementary Education/Special Education, said. "Since my playing career is over, the next step in my soccer career is coaching. I've wanted to be a coach since I was in high school, and to get an opportunity to do so at the collegiate level is an honor." [+]![]() WATERHOUSE ALL PSAC-WEST CHOICE CLARION- Rebecca Waterhouse (Jr. Girard) was named to the All PSAC-West second team for the third year in a row. Waterhouse, a defensive specialist, anchored the Golden Eagle defense playing in 18 games. She helped the Clarion defense to post three shutouts and two games giving up only one goal. [+]![]() EAGLES FALL 3-1 CLARION- Clarion University's Women's soccer team closed out their season with a 3-1 loss to Edinboro. Rachael Schmitz capped her Clarion career with an assist on an Alyssa Jacobs goal in the 86th minute. The assist gives Schmitz a total of 19 points for her career.
