Head Coach (8th Season)

An enthusiastic coach and an experienced player, Christina Alonzo Feldman begins her eighth season as Clarion's Women's Soccer coach.

Feldman has been the head coach since the Golden Eagles officially started their first varsity season in 2001. The team has had two solid years back to back. The Eagles were a very competitive 5-11-3 last year and 6-13 in 2006. Overall Nina has a record of 24-101-6 at Clarion.

Alonzo came to Clarion from Allegheny College (Meadville), where she was assistant women's soccer coach the past two seasons and helped lead Allegheny to a 28-9-3 overall record and the 2000 NCAC regular season conference title.

"This is the opportunity of a lifetime," beamed Alonzo. "I have had a great experience here at Clarion and I have learned a lot in building our program from scratch. As we continue to improve we expect to prepare our teams to compete in the PSAC and beyond."

Alonzo is a native of Wichita Falls, Texas and attended Notre Dame High School. She was valedictorian of her class and graduated in 1995. She earned 4 basketball, 3 track and 2 volleyball letters. She was a member of the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club (1992-94) and the Olympic Development Program while being selected to for ODP Regionals.

She went on to attend Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. A 4-year letterwinner on the women's soccer team, she was a forward her junior and senior years and team captain as a senior (1998). She was a mid-fielder her freshman and sophomore years. She was named as a second team All-SCAC in 1996 and 97 and an HM SCAC selection in 1995. Christina earned her B.A. in Kinesiology in 1999.

Christina had two years of club coaching experience with the Crossfire Soccer Club in Round Rock, Texas before joining the staff at Allegheny College in 1999.

In the Summer of 2004 Nina was awarded her national diploma and coaching license from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. She is married to Scott Feldman and the couple have a son Austin Scott.
