LOCK HAVEN - Clarion University freshman Nicole Lollo is the All-PSAC-West Second Team third baseman as chosen in a voting by the league's coaches. Lollo (Callery/Seneca Valley), who hit .247 with three doubles, a triple, 10 runs scored and six RBIs, is the first Golden Eagle to be selected to the all-conference team since Lauren Fortnoff was a second-team outfielder in 2005. She is the first Clarion freshman to be named all-conference since 2003 when April Shannon was named first-team pitcher as well as PSAC-West Rookie of the Year. Lollo was perhaps Clarion's best player down the stretch hitting .440 (11 of 25) with a double, triple, six runs scored and two RBIs in the Golden Eagles finals eight games. During that stretch, she had a .560 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base percentage. On the season, Lollo had five multiple-hit games, which ranked third on the team, including a doubleheader performance against Gannon April 22 that saw her go a combined 5-for-6 with a double, a triple and five runs scored. She also had the second-longest hitting streak on the game at five games between April 22 and April 25 and also finished the year on a high note going 2-for-3 with an RBI in Clarion's season finale at Edinboro April 26. NOTES - Lollo started 33 of Clarion's 35 games including 28 at third base and five at designated player ... Clarion was 4-31 on the season and 0-20 in the PSAC-West under second-year head coach Nancy Smoose. |
