(CLARION, PA.): Clarion University head swimming coach Mark VanDyke has announced the annual "Learn To Swim" and "Learn To Dive" program for the Fall. The programs are offered for those children ranging in abilities from non-swimmer to swimmer, plus Parent-Child classes and Competitive swimming. Registration will take place at Clarion University's W.S. Tippin Gym Lobby on Tuesday September 2nd and Wednesday September 3rd from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

The overall program will begin with lessons starting on Monday, September 8th and Tuesday September 9th, plus include a Saturday session. On weekday sessions 8 lessons will be offered to each student attending with a total cost per person of $75. On the Saturday sessions only 5 lessons will be needed with a cost of $60. There will be a $5 reduction for each additional person from the same family during weekday sessions only. All checks should be made out to the Clarion University Foundation.

The "Learn To Swim" and "Learn To Dive" program will offer eight sessions to choose from, including three on Monday and Wednesday evenings, three on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and in the Saturday program, two sessions offered.

The three Sessions that meet on Monday and Wednesday include Session A from 5:00 - 5:40pm, Session B from 5:45 - 6:25pm, and Session C from 6:30 - 7:10pm.

The three Tuesday and Thursday Session include Session D which meets from 5:00 -5:40pm, Session E from 5:45- 6:25pm, and Session F from 6:30 - 7:10pm.

The Saturday Sessions include Session G that runs from 10:30am - 11:15am and Session H which runs from 11:20am - 12:05pm. The Saturday Sessions are 45-minutes in length, so only five sessions are required. Those dates include Sept. 6, Sept. 13, Sept. 20, 27 and Oct. 11. Children signing up for Saturday lessons should be age 4 and over.

CLARION NOTES: A Competitive Swimming Clinic will also be offered for advanced swimmers... Sign ups are also at Tippin on Sept. 2nd and Sept. 3rd... Cost is $60 ... Any advanced swimmer is a person that can swim the length of the pool and one other stroke ... Parent-Child classes are also available and will run the same 5 Saturday's as the Saturday lessons... Parent-Child will only cost $25...
