CLARION 5 MILLERSVILLE 4

The Clarion women's tennis team defeated Millersville Friday, Sept. 19 by a score of 5-4. The match was held at Clarion.

In #1 doubles Jaclyn Metzger and Kassie Leuschel of Clarion defeated Andrea Konds and Sara Prager with a score of 8-5. Also winning for Clarion was #2 doubles team Sharayah Campbell and Devin Rombach, defeating Lindsay Knappenberger and Michelle DeStefano with a score of 8-0. Millersville's #3 doubles team of Jenny Habecker and Sami Souders defeated Clarion's Megan Parsons and Haylee Gardner with a score of 8-6.

In singles play, Clarion's #1 Jaclyn Metzger defeated Andrea Konds 6-0, 6-2. Also winning for Clarion was #2 singles player Kassie Leuschel, defeating Sara Prager 6-4, 7-5. Millersville #3 Lindsay Knappenberger defeated Sharayah Campbell 6-4, 6-3. At #4, Clarion's Devin Rombach defeated Jenny Habecker 6-4, 7-6, with a tiebreaking score of 7-5. Millersville's Sami Souders defeated Haylee Gardner at #5 with a score of 6-3, 6-4. At #6, Millersville Michelle DeStefano defeated Megan Parsons with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The win for Clarion was clinched by #4 singles player Devin Rombach, who won in a tiebreaker against Millersville's Jenny Habecker.
