LOCK HAVEN - Clarion University freshman Rhianon Brady has been named the second-team Daktronics NCAA Division II Volleyball Atlantic Region Libero. Brady (Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester) ranked second in the PSAC in digs per game (4.64) while finishing the season with 487 digs, the 13th most in school history and the second most among freshmen in school history. She added 27 service aces, 11 assists and one kill while helping Clarion to a 16-15 overall mark and a 5-7 mark in the PSAC-West. The Golden Eagles were in the chase for both a PSAC and NCAA D-II playoff berth in the final week of the season, and the winning record tied the school record for most consecutive winning seasons at eight. GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES - It's the second consecutive season Clarion has had at least one player named to the Daktronics All-Region team. Last year, Sarah Fries (1st team) and Christina Steiner (2nd team) were chosen Daktronics All-Region. In 2004, Clarion had three players named Daktronics All-Region with Colleen Sherk and Ashley Kreiner gaining first-team honors and Vicky Gentile second-team accolades ... The Golden Eagles also had eight straight winning seasons from 1983-90 ... Clarion is averaging 24.5 wins per season over the last eight years and has qualified for the NCAA Division II playoffs five times during that span. |
